Come and join our friendly stewarding team

Our stewarding team is made up of a number of fantastic volunteers who assist in keeping the crowd safe during our event. One of the main responsibilities of our stewards is to assist our section leaders in ensuring that the procession route is kept clear for the carts and encourage spectators to watch from safe areas. On the night we are always very grateful to the other carnival committees who lend us some stewards for the evening but we are always on the look out for more volunteers.

All of our stewards work alongside our friendly and experienced section leaders throughout the event, and training will be provided on the night.

For those who want to be involved without missing the procession this is a great way to volunteer for a role which gives you a unique view of the carnival. There are also other stewarding roles, maybe you'd be happy to direct carts to somewhere to disassemble safely in our breakdown area or maybe you'd be happy to assist with a road closure.

Whatever your previous experience we can find a role in our stewarding team to suit you. We even provide you with food and drink after the event in our steward's lounge.
